The automated reply seems to be a bit sporadic at present - we're trying to sort it out. Everything seems to be getting through, but email the college address if you want to double check.

Thanks Micheal. Reply just arrived, took about 15 minutes. Guess I was over reacting.

Which would be....?

How should I know?

a) I haven't read any of his three scripts

b) I haven't got the faintest idea what they are looking for

but you can't deny that it makes sense to send the one with the greatest chance of winning?

Note to self, I must remember to send my feeble attempt in.

ok, ok, ok, I'll send the "BIG LOL" one is as, yes, it does make the most sense. :)

Sorry. Keep forgetting the 10 page sub will only be a calling card.

My dilemma is that I have THREE sitcoms. 1 post watershed, 1 mid-range and 1 pre-watershed.

Mikey. In the politically correct world that we live in, none of your three sitcoms will be suitable; i.e., 1 post-watershed, 1 mid-range and 1 pre-watershed. What you need is a sitcom that is free-range. Sorry.

I think in every case it's probably best to go for the one you believe in, or the one that represents your personal voice.

I can't resist confusing you even more, Mikey. Why not send sketches? Have you ever sold a sitcom script? If not and you've sold sketches in the past then perhaps you'd have more chance of success by submitting sketches? Once you get a college place you can choose to write a sitcom if that's where your ambitions lie...

Just thought I'd point that out. Happy choosing and good luck!

Luckily, to avoid being confused :P I am going with the postwatershed sitcom that I believe in. :)

I'm just about to email it with my CV.

lol :)

Well, I sent my submission late last night.
It's the sitcom I really believe it. :)

As a result, this year will be more rigorous in some areas, with strict script deadlines and parameters for how many characters and settings the scripts should involve.

Speaking of which, the "sitcom I believe in" fits the criteria of submission piece and project piece as it:

- has ONE set. (whole series based in one setting)
- is perfect as an AUDIENCE based live recording.
- has THREE main characters, two supporting characters and (occasionally) the odd guest character.

and thus cheap to make. :)

Sounds better than mine.

I'm not going to enter this year. I have nothing ready and there's no point in rushing something through.

I said exactly the same to my wife.

Yeah, I've never heard anybody be so pleased apparently.

;)

Oh, I never said it was any good. Just cheap to make, that's all. :P

Funnily enough, I had ANOTHER idea for a BBC Three type sitcom today and am currently writing the pilot.
I just can't stop!

I don't know how you do it.
