The Break-Up

INT. MORNING.

CRAIG AND KELLY, EARLY TO MID 20S, ARE SITTING ON A SOFA

CRAIG:Kelly, I...God, this is so hard...

KELLY:What's up?

CRAIG:I...I think maybe we should...have a break for a bit, y'know, from...us.

KELLY:What? Why? Have I done something wrong?

CRAIG:It's not one thing or another, it's just that...well, since we met there's been so much going on...people coming and going, it's been a struggle to even get food into the house, and...I'm not sure I can cope anymore. I need a bit of space.

KELLY:Craig, I can't believe this.

CRAIG:Don't get me wrong, the past few weeks with you have been...amazing. And I'll never forget them...

KELLY:But you just want to end it all, just like that?

CRAIG:I'm sorry.

KELLY STANDS UP AND STARTS HITTING CRAIG AROUND THE ARMS AND BODY

KELLY:(shouting) You bastard! After everything we've been through!

VOICE:This is Big Brother. Will Kelly come to the diary room please.

KELLY:You f**ker.

WIDE SHOT OF THE TWO IN THE LIVING AREA OF THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE, OTHER CONTESTANTS AROUND THEM.

I'm not sure where the joke is here.

I threw a little paddy and deleted this post.

I suppose what I wanted to do was make it seem as if this couple were devastatingly breaking up after such a long time together, but they're Big Brother contestants that have only known each other a few weeks.

I don't know, maybe I thought that in their own heads they imagined themselves as a 'couple', but were really just contestants flirting on a show, like Ziggy and Chanelle.

Ah well.

I think woodmeister has it about right. As far as I can remember this sort of thinking you are in the middle of an earth-shattering romance when it's a quick fumble on the BB sofa seems very common in the real thing. Kind of like the Horne and Corden stuff on here recently, it is hard to parody things which are already a parody of themselves.

I could see the joke. I think if it was performed right and really over the top it would work.

Good idea.

Acted correctly would be funny, but reading it is not. can see what your doing though.
