Just an update.
I've got my appointment for next week at the hospital so we will find out how much weight I have lost!!!
Just an update on my progress.
Firstly the weight loss : I went for my first follow up appointment at the hospital this afternoon. And the good news is that I've lost 6 stone. Not bad in seven weeks! I do feel so much better, just been for big long walk in the woods. My daughter is going to try to work on a picture to show my face before and after. So I'll try to get that posted at some stage.
Secondly the book: In the end I had eleven agents contact me all with varying degrees of interest. Anyway after a meeting I went for a very nice lady who is the agent for a big name Chef and a well know action novelist. Best of all she likes my writing!! I'm 30,000 words into it and it's all going very well. So hopefully there will be some positive news soon.
Well done, mate. Hope it continues to go well.
Re: the writing. I'd treat it like sketches: make it interesting and then hit us with the punchline at the end. Make us laugh.
Tell us why it's funny being big. Then, as you get more into it, why it's funny being not-so-big, then why it's not funny being slim and why that particularl thing would have been funnier being bigger 
Sounds like you're getting through it pretty quickly anyway, so you don't need my advice!

There we go, the first picture was taken last week of Feb - at 43 stone.
The second picture wa taken last night - 6 stone lighter.
Only another 18 stone to go!!!!
