MP3 player opinion.

Right, I've been looking into buying a pretty cheap, yet decent MP3 player. The thing is, it must be from Amazon* and under £50 at the most. I've found this one, it has me conflicted with the silly 50/50 reviews though.

I'm not after replicating an iPod touch or anything, I don't care as long as it doesn't look tooooo bad. My basic needs are mp3 player, playlists (or whatever else makes it easy to find songs), decent storage size (at least 1GB will do). That's all. The one I found above has a video/still camera attached to it, which would be a nice feature, plus it plays shit loads of formats like avi and so on. But I'm not desperate for those extras.

I'm dubious about this one though, because some of these claim to be iPods or try to be something like that, I don't want that. I would be quite happy with a cheap, no name brand player as it is, as long as it worked well.

The only other reviews I've found are on YouTube, but they don't say much, although they haven't portrayed anything negative about it.

Any thoughts or recommendations for something better?

Cheers :)

*I have vouchers for Amazon by the way.

Sexy.

The Walkman's not bad either. ;)

Looks like the criticisms of that item, Lee, are on battery issues. Whereas the comments on the device itself and its features seem quite positive. They've obviously had a dodgy batch in, so it's down to you as to whether you are willing to send it back if it is one of that bunch.

Cheers Aaron. I think it's something I actually would be willing to risk, I'm particularly fond of the usb wall charger it comes with.

I've had good luck with electrical equipment in the past, especially the cheaper brands, surprisingly. I've just been put off recently by a Freeview PVR we had that used the ugliest cheapy menus ever and was slow n sluggish - something I fear the mp3 player would be. But on the other hand, all the other features on the PVR worked great, much better than more expensive ones anyway.
