Agreed, I wouldn't want to see him fail but the messianic aura perpetrated around him needs to go. We need a good human president, not a piss-poor failure of a messiah.

I'm worried that he'll turn into another Jimmy Carter - a decent guy (although he seems to have gone off the deep end lately) - but not the kind of leader the U.S. needs. I think the administration's eyes are being opened daily and hopefully they'll get their legs under them.

It's good to see you're not a complete Russ Limburgh. As for the original question, the press in this country will use any stick to beat Brown. The country doesn't really care if Brown was snubbed or not. In fact most of this country is so stupid it has very little concept of who Brown and Obama are, and if they met or not.

I've never read or heard anything Limbaugh has said, so I have no idea what he's all about. But I have a feeling I wouldn't like him.

Really not sure about that.
I'd think most of honest couldn't give a flying f**k what Brown does as long as he doesn't touch the economy again
Haha!
The messiah claims of Obama were started by the right wing republicans. I can honestly say I know a lot of Americans and the ones who voted for Obama did so because they detested Bush, no messiah complex.
Also I was told that Rush Limbaugh is the one who started that key phrase messiah and the republicans have ran with it.
America is in one deep sad mess. The division between the two major parties are pathetic and I am very saddened to see some alarming behaviors on both sides. The republicans lean towards elitist know it all attitudes and the democrats are too caught up in lack of citizen responsibility. With those two mixes I sometimes wonder if the whole country might just self destruct.
Obama's opponents would certainly have been the first to use the term 'messiah', but only as a descriptor for the way he was being portrayed by his own camp, and the way he was acting. It wasn't pulled out of nowhere without any credence or it would have been forgotten immediately.

I disagree but then again I know real life people who have voted for him. The press has created a lot. People voted for change not a messiah. I did not see Obama acting like a messiah and I saw him in person more than once.
The press can be damaging in more ways than one. Truths do not sell as well as spin. I see a lot of spin on both sides, never ending. One must be careful not to buy in on spin or a mucky road will soon follow.

Do a Google news search and you'll see that Obama has been associated with the term "messiah" for at least 5 years and it wasn't only Republicans using the term. Anyone who has been exposed to the media and even "the word on the street" has to admit that Obama's hype was bigger than the man himself. Most of my friends are hardcore liberals and Obama fanatics (and many work in the media) but the more honest among them will grudgingly admit that they bought into the hype and charismatic aura more than they should have and they're a little bit embarrassed by it. I think most of the media realizes it and they're finally getting down to business and treating the president like the mere mortal that he is.

It always seems that way with your elections. The razz-a-matazz, balloons, 'we can do it America!', hype style guff. I always find it pretty distasteful myself and a wee bit on the silly side.

Yes it is!!!
I do worry for Americans who are unempoyed or missing life savings and retirement. There are many who are fine but the middle class is in big trouble. All the fighting between the parties keeps the whole land depressed and dysfunctional.
Obama has already stimulated one area of the American economy - gun sales. Democrats usually favour heavy gun controls and American citizens having been going on a spending spree in case a lot of guns are banned by the current administration.
The Glock factory in the States is producing 4000 pistols a day and still can't meet demand, they've had to import a load of handguns in from Austria.
It's what Jesus would have wanted.
