Sorry chaps. I usually really like your stuff. But I didn't get this. Presume its intent was satirical or some sort of spin/ parody on Total Recall. I just didn't get what angle you were coming from. Perhaps it's something to do with the case? I think when tackling emotive subject matter such as this, the satirical angle has to be clear (or worthy of satire), otherwise it appears somewhat cruel and heartless. The reason brass eye, for example the paedo episode, worked/ got away with it, is they were clearly satirising the media coverage of such events. Maybe I'm missing something......
Cheers. The point was really to satirise Hollywood and the film industry's tendency to sensationalise stories and re-write history. Obviously Ian Blair wasn't at the scene and Menezes didn't have a gun - but any sort of Hollywood adaptation would embellish the 'truth' for the sake of action.
I think you're right about appearing cruel and heartless if the satirical angle isn't clear - but it's hard to make it clear when you're trying to make an authentic trailer. I guess we thought the ridiculousness of the situation would suffice.
I thought that was very good. Made me laugh.
EDIT: So that I don't look heartless for finding this funny, I thought you were taking a jab at the way the police handled it, what with them chasing him with big guns and shooting like mad.

Agree 100% with Simon. This didn't have a clear target (excuse the pun) and as a result I felt it was cruel rather than cutting. The first name we see on screen is de Menezes - I don't think this helps, and neither does the laughter at the end.
