A curious Look Away Now. It felt like a lot of the stuff - especially the hooligan stuff - was written weeks ago for something they expected to happen but hasn't yet. Unless there's been outbreaks of hooliganism in South Africa I'm not aware of.

And I'm not sure bringing on real people like Evan Davis really worked. His was the weakest bit, almost cringeworthy, although the Sue Barker lounger stuff was funny.

Still, pity the series has finished. An obscenely short run!

Interesting news about tomorrow's edition of The Now Show: it is most guests. Neither Hugh Dennis, Mitch Benn, Marcus Brigstocke or Jon Holmes are on. Instead it will feature Andy Zaltzman, Isy Suttie, John Finnemore and Toby Longworth.

Yes, it was a weird one yesterday. Still funny but it felt a bit strange, like a Now Show from a paraellel dimension. And although likeable, Isy Suttie didn't strike me as hugely funny. And the last song she did was quite weak.

Another enjoyable ISIHAC. Nice to see the return of "Cheddar Gorge", all be it in a different form from the norm.

Yes, Jack Dee's really settled in well. And I think Jeremy Hardy is at his most palatable on ISIHAC.

Jeremy Hardy Speaks To The Nation - God, it's hard work listening to Jeremy Harding for a solid half hour. It's his voice, more than anything. He's just got one tone. The material was so-so, but I couldn't help but feel we've heard it all before.

I wasn't sure about tonight's Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation. It was OK at parts, but it may have been a bit too preachy and not too funny.

When he drones on through the Grand Prix for two and a bit hours it feels like a lot...

<wonders how large the intersection between Grand Prix viewers and Radio 4 listeners is and wonders if he has to spell it out>

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he sounds like Martin Brundle!

:D

Yay! I win! Cheers Tony!

Here's some commentary from Jeremy Hardy himself, with Murray Walker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0ZvzqKofcI

Quite enjoyed The Secret World tonight. I remember being quite cool towards the last series, but it hit the spot tonight. Not everything works, but it has a pretty good hit rate. And it genuinely comes at celebrity impressions from a fresh angle - not easy in this day and age. Particularly enjoyed the conspiracy theory obsessed Al Pacino.

I found Susan Calman's material about the EU and eggs to be very interesting indeed. It is interesting, because that story is complete bollocks.

It was a story that was reported in The Mail on Sunday (surprise, surprise), the BBC, the Daily Telegraph, The Sun, the Daily Mirror and The Grocer, which has since been proven to be totally untrue.

Yeah, I love The Secret World - a very fresh programme in the otherwise currently quite stale arena of impressionism.

I'm really starting to think they need to put I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue to bed now though... it's just not cutting the comic mustard.

Listened tonight with your criticism in mind, but still think it works. Yes, it does tend to repeat itself and do the same gags again and again, but I still laugh. And I particularly loved the Goodies Kitten stuff.

Just listened to Badfellas on the iPlayer. Quite good, although there was one thing that was predictable. Still, I thought Ricky Tomlinson did well to prevent himself from saying "My arse!" for at least the first quarter of an hour.

Jeremy Hardy seemed even harder work than usual tonight. He duly ticked all the boxes you know he was going to tick, and didn't say anything we haven't heard a thousand times before. Usually from Jeremy Hardy. On Radio 4.
