Hahahaha

An enjoyable Heresy last night. Although you can't go wrong with Mark Steel and Richard Herring as guests. Boring topics, though. I'm struggling to remember what they talked about.

The subjects were Cameron and Osbourne being too posh, if it doesn't involve running about it is not a sport, and we should stop listening to weather forecasts.

Favourite bit of the episode was the comment about Steel's seamed balls.

Yes, the ball bit was good. And Janet Street Porter being turned on by weatherman. Still think the topics were a bit middling. Perhaps they've done all the obvious ones?

Listened to S.W.Y.W last night. Lee Mack is a very good guest. He brings a different perspective from all the younger comedians featured.

A good start to the new series of Look Away Now. I particularly liked the Anybody But England song. Looking forward to the show running throughout the world cup.

Yes, I'm not a huge Lee Mack fan, but he works well with Brooker. Possibly because he's not really part of any comedy cliques and feels a bit different to the usual suspects. Like a young Brian Conley.

Just noticed that Series 2, Episode 1 of On The Blog is on on Saturday night after Never Write Off The Germans. It's the best episode of that particular (very good) series and, in my opinion, one of the best bits of radio sitcom writing of recent years. Worth a listen sometime in the next week if you get a chance.

You really like On The Blog, don't you? I mean really like it.

What gave you that idea? ;)

(Actually, just started listening to series three yesterday, so possibly not that much!)

Dan

I think On The Blog is great... I think I identify with the main character a bit too much though, which is worrying.

Already missing So Wrong It's Right - really hope Radio 4 give it another series. 5 episodes wasn't enough.

I liked it too, as a non-sportsfan. Luckily it was funny without knowing nuffin about kicking balls into nets.

Just listened to Clare in the Community on the iPlayer. This was one of the recordings I was at. I call tell you that the "bigoted woman" ending got a lot more laughs at the recording than it did broadcast.

I did feel however it was a bit corny giving Doreen Mantle the line: "I don't believe it."

Thought that tonight's edition of The Museum of Curiosity was better than the others. I'm going to have to listen to a lot more of Jack Benny.

Yes, the Jack Benny stuff sounded very interesting. I found the American scientist quite interesting as he didn't seem to interact or comment on the others choices. Good show, though.

Any idea what's on next Monday?

I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue from Cheltenham, with guest Jeremy Hardy.

Thank God Micky Flannagan's finally over. The whole series felt like a vanity project. Still, it's always nice to hear Sean Locke.
