I got fed up with that show!
It descended into endless screaming matches and overuse of the f and c words

Eps are only 15 minutes long but good stuff
One of my all time favourite radio shows Lofty. Very silly and very funny.😁
I enjoyed Glenn Moore's Almanac recently. It takes a wee while to calibrate the ear to the rhythms, but the structure is so nicely intricate, and there are tons of jokes (some of them awful, but that's part of the fun).
The new series of (as it's now called) Tim Key's Poetry Programme is good. Obvious comparison but it has the sort of inverted warmth of Hancock.
I've never really listened to Milton Jones's radio stuff, despite having been a fan of his stand-up for a while, but the new series of Thanks A Lot, Milton Jones! has been very good so far. It's a good mix of bad jokes, knowingly bad jokes, and clever word play.
His original radio show -The Very World of Milton Jones ,was far far better
"Each programme would begin with Jones facing certain death in some bizarre circumstance or other, such as being put before a firing squad in Mexico, or being faced with a cobra in the jungles of South America. At the moment before his death, a guardian angel would appear and freeze time, then spend the rest of the show reviewing and interpreting the events which had led up to his impending demise, as well as covering hypothetical situations that Milton could have been involved in "
There's a couple of old stand-up shows of his - one recording of an early Edinburgh show, and the other was his live CD "Hello" - that were broadcast on Radio 7 (as it was) ages ago, both of which are great.
Room 101 the radio show is up on BBC sounds
It's not up to much imo to be honest but I downloaded the episode with Giles Brandreth , and it's an absolute hoot!
Woof, starring Chris Neill on bbc sounds atm is very good
It's a bit like Meet David Sedaris - but much funnier

I'm bound to forget about that. Yes i know I should put it in my diary but there isn't a lot of space on my phone.
Forget the titles but there's a couple of recentish radio sketch/ensemble comedy shows I've had the misfortune to catch on the drive home and found myself wanting to crash into the nearest oak tree, it was so cringemakingly woke and banal at the same time.
Then as filler for a lack of material, one of them of them would sing a lame song tunelessly while strumming an acoustic guitar sounding like the only tuition he's had is listening to that folk freak Joni Mitchel. 🆘 Where's that tree?
Re: the Victoria Wood thing, the archive is good but, as with Rees' book, it feels like he's trying to avoid it being a hagiography and overcompensating in an awkward way. Just this weird, unexplained iciness.
