Damn. I've heard nothing so presumably mine were so wrong that it just goes without saying.

They're getting back to people fairly quickly then. That's good.
I've got 1 and a half set of vox pops done. Probably won't be submitting til the weekend.
I agree that the brief is fairly vague. Hennell's mp3 was helpful though as it showed that the answers didn't have to be a DIRECT answer to the 'question'.
Ok I sent 4 sets of 10 and just got a rejection. So I asked if they read all of them and the response was they have only time to read one set of submissions per writer. The morals of this story are,
1 I am an idiot.
2 Only send one lot but make it a good 'un or possibly bundle more than one lot of questions into your email.

Sounds like good advice Sooty.
Bollocks. I sent 4 but there were definitly stronger and weaker aspects. I wasn't entirely sure what they were after so tried to hedge my bets.
Glad I didn't send the other 2 sets I ran out of ideas on.
I sent three sets in one email with what I thought was the strongest set as the first attachment. I also tried to put the strongest gags at the start and end of the set of answers so that they would get a good laugh at the beginning and also as they finished reading it.
I was also quite careful to trim any I thought were a bit weak. There didn't seem much point diluting good material with weak material, just to make up the numbers, so two of the sets only had 9 in as I cut a gag from each just before sending.
No sign of a response yet though. Hopefully that means they haven't managed to stop laughing and type an email yet.
When you say "they have only time to read one set of submissions per writer" sootyj do you mean they'll only read one e-mail (with all its attachments) or they'll only read one set of 10 answers?
(They don't make this easy do they?)
I'd imagine that reading one set of ten would be enough to tell if they liked the writer's material. I expect they'd read more if they liked the first set enough to consider it for inclusion.
I didn't stick rigidly to 10 answere either, and varied the length so there were long and short responses to each question. Am still awaiting email rejection of course.

Dunno I know they read my worst e-mail then didn't read any of the others (which weren't much cop). My view would be send less send better.
I'm turning into a sketch character. The guys who
's advice is ace as it's always based on his own cockups.
Balls! I sent multiples in one email. They probably read the weaker one.
Arggghhhh.
Quote: Chris Forshaw @ March 4 2009, 11:51 PM GMTJust got a reply from this today saying that they didn't think my stuff was right for the show. However, having now listened to Hennell's mp3 (Thank you sir) I realise where I was going wrong (Damn vague brief), so, do you think they would read some more of my stuff if I sent more in?
The deadline isn't until the 9th but I'm just wondering if it's a 'you only get one shot' kind of deal.
Cheers
There's nothing to stop you creating a new email account and submitting a new set of Vox Pops under another name, Susan Anikamobo for example, and coming clean if and when they accept them?
Susan
Sneakily, I've resent my two best ones in separate emails.
It's scum like you that have brought this country down to its knees!
Dan
Fortunatly I only sent one set.
Unfortunatly it was shite.
Still waiting for rejection email though.
