News: BBC America drops classic comedy Page 3

Loyalist, I think your reply is overreacting a little bit! MT's response merely reflected his own opinion - perhaps phrased in slightly strong terms, but I read it with tongue in cheek!

Now let's all play nice. No one disagrees that BBCA's comedy output has declined somewhat.

Hollyoaks?

They like bitchy tarts with limey accents.

I digress.
I forgot to take my MeldrewAITIS pills.

The disagreement of what is good British TV is the reason BBCA is always going to be lacking. They air BBC, Channel 4, ITV and any other programming they can possibly claim has some British'ness (although I'm not sure how Battlestar Galactica falls into the mix).

They claim to have the "Best British Comedy" but PBS would win that fight. IFC, having aired I.T. Crowd, Ideal, The Wrong Door and Monty Python (all uncut), has better British comedy than BBCA... which censors any comedy they have worth watching.
