Writing for Newsjack (aka 7 on 7) Page 70

Anyone go to the recording tonight? How did it go? Apparently I had another Vox Pop in the line-up. :)

(BTW I also have sent everything as Word document attachments).

Well done, Badge! I guess that means you got an e-mail already?

:D :D

Does that mean we would have heard already if we had anything used?
It's nice to know exactly when we should give up hope for the week.

God this is frustrating isn't it! Every week I feel maybe I have a chance. I can just imagine the producers opening my attachments, reading them with a face of stone, then moving on to the next email. One more week then its all over!

Imagine them laughing hysterically and then saying
"It's a shame we can't use this it's dangerously funny"

I heard that they'd recorded my vox pop at 3.15pm on Thursday last week, then got the confirmation that it'd made it to the show at 7.50pm. So it could be a while yet...

Well done again Badge. :) What should we listen out for?

I'm assuming that means they've told everyone now so I'm out of luck. (I couldn't go to the show yesterday to find out). It does seem a low hit rate on here though, compared to previous weeks.

I agree with the whole cyle of the week thing. I'll be glad of a rest after next week - although it's been good to have something to aim for.

Jx

Last week I got my confirmation email at 19:44. Sorry if I'm dragging people's hopes ;)

I can imagine Katie Tyrrel saying "That bloke pretending to be Michael Jackson has submitted material again. Sick forker! Delete!"

Damn! I'm not on. Still, one episode left to go.

Thanks for posting the links Dave and Ian.

Don't worry folks if your submissions aren't used. It's not neccessarily a sign your work isn't good. As I said the other week I sent in a one-liner they didn't use but which turned up on 8 Out of 10 Cats (not written by me, but the same gag). I should have submitted it to 8 Out of 10 Cats instead.

Shame 8 Out of 10 Cats doesn't have an open-door writing policy.

Cheers for the link Ian - I don't think it gets much more encouraging that that does it? And he says it is coming back later, which is very good news.

Meantime, I'm flying the flag for BCG tonight - thanks for your support! Wave

All I know is it's a Vox Pop, which means it's either something about the G8 summit or a disgruntled commuter.
