Insomnia

Does anyone or has anyone else suffered from this?

Any tips or cures?

I have it on and off, but it's been bad for the past few days and I feel a bit off my head now :D . I've probably had about 12 hours sleep over the last three days.

Bastards. Bet you're all snoring away in bed now. :D

Eat regularly, exercise, stop using computer a good hour before bed. And if you do get to sleep, get up at a normal time to get back into a routine.

You could also try hot milk or reading before bed.

I don't suffer from insomnia, but I have had bad nights (and weeks).

I have some hypnosis CDs. They are not to help me sleep, they are for other stuff but I find that if I can't sleep cause I am stress or my brain is overworking, it can help me relax.

And don't read in bed or watch TV.

Go to bed only to sleep.

Ha! Guess not then. :D

Yeah, I think my routine is messed up because I've become a part-time student. I'm always woken at 7.30am every single day though. I also haven't been exercising as normal on the days I'm a student.

I might try some hypnosis stuff Ruby.

Guilty of both.

Phew, nothing new then. ;)

I meant excluding the obvious lol.

Is it okay to play word games in your head? Like finding a car beginning with each letter of the alphabet. Or a band?
e.g:

Abba
Beatles
Christians, etc

(10 points if anyone gets the reference).

Just go to bed thinking of pleasant, easy going things that relax you.

I find anything that involves working the brain can keep you awake.

The only thing that can help me sleep when Insomnia hits is meditation.
I'm not the meditating type, I don't have the patients for it.
BUT I listened to someones advise and Vipassana meditation worked for me. I no longer have problems sleeping at all.
It's crazy man. Try downloading some Vipassana meditation CDs.

It has side-effects, though. A friend of mine said that it affected his spelling.
