Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, my TV remote stopped operating the TV. A change of batteries didn't help. But strangely, the Virgin box remote has started to operate the TV, which it's never done before. What might be happening? I've tried disconnecting various things, turning things off, but nothing seems to help at the moment. Further attempts will be made, but what is likely to be wrong? I'm not sure what to suspect;is there a fault with the TV, the TV remote, the Virgin box, or its remote, or the connection, or something else?
Make sure the batteries in both remotes are good for a start as remotes, especially the Virgin one, can do random stuff when the batteries are failing. Virgin remotes can be used to operate the volume control of your TV (if programmed to) but they shouldn't do much else (if anything).
Also, make sure your TV remote doesn't have a VCR/DVD switch that has been moved.

...and having just switched everything off at the mains, it's all working again...for the moment.
Oh, sorted.

Start at www.cpc.co.uk
and then search for security eg "security cameras"
Cheers, I might just get a fake cam from Maplins as a preventative measure.
