Okay, you know those videos you see on You Tube. Where some clever computer boffin talks you though how to do something say on Photoshop and basically you see their screen and they talk over the top.

What software do they use to do it? Anyone know? I've downloaded something called Jing which is fantastic but only lets you do five minutes. Which is less than I need.

I use a program called CAMTASIA, But I can't remember where I got it from. I think it came as a freebie with some equipment I bought, either a scanner or a still camera or my camcorder.

Ulp... to BUY a copy is £230+.. But you can have a free trial first.

This one claims to be an open source alternative to Camtasia.

But I have not tried it or checked the credentials of the publisher.

Anyone know what version of After Effects for the MAc that supports 32 bit? I DL the latest one but it says they are 64 bit now and I can't get it to work :(

Cheers, but I'll pass. I only wanted to have a play. I have most of the other CS4 stuff, but it seems After Effects is being a prick.

I'm currently em "buying" ILife '11. That will do me for now, I don't need anything too fancy I suppose.

I might have CS3 at home somewhere. I'll check later and/or see if I can find you a link.

:)

Does anyone know anything at all about freeview hard drive TV recorders? I've just bought one and the picture was glitching like a bitch for no apparent reason. Then I realised that when I turned my XBox 360 off, the glitching stopped. Turned Xbox back on again, glitching restarted.

HOW is this happening?? The XBox is plugged into the same wall socket as the TV Recorder - is the recorder affected by tiny power fluctuations, is that it? If so it's a pile of shit.

Just to illustrate further - I couldn't find the landline phone so I pressed the page button on the base, and the freeview recorder went mental again, totally scrambling the picture. I've just realised I was playing the XBox as the X Factor was recording tonight - just checked and the picture's scrambled to f**k. The wife's gonna kill me.

Use a good external TV aerial, so that it is a long way away from the toys and is directional and pointed at your TV transmitter.

The past few times I've rebooted my Mac Mini (latest Snow Leopard) it has hung on the desktop for about 5-10 mins. I can move the mouse cursor but can't click on anything. After the 5-10 mins it begins to work again. There's nothing listed in the Log-in Items on the Accounts screen.

I ran the Console.app and all the last errors where something to do with Safari that I didn't understand.

07/11/2010 15:45:16Console[205]Incompatible applications: app=com.apple.Console, targetApp=com.apple.Safari

Is an example of the last log line.

I'm going to reinstall Safari, even though I never use it. And see if that helps.

But any thoughts in the mean time will be much appreciated. Thanks.
