A pick me up is needed here!

Afternoon Comedy Nerds,

I'm fairly new to this website so it might be annoying for you to read a post such as this, especially on a comedy site, but I'm just posting in need of a pick me up really.

I'm usually a real happy person, but over the past few months things haven't been ideal. Perhaps minor problems to others, but important to me. Had a bit of bad luck on the dating front, this girl I really liked got back with her ex a couple of weeks back, I assume I was the rebound guy. Not wanting to bore you (if I haven't already), but I'd known her for about seven months and for five months of that I have really liked her and built up a picture in my own head of what it would be like to be with her. We dated briefly, but now it's gone, as quick as that. I've never felt more single in my life, it's not nice at the moment.

I also left my job yesterday, through choice as I was finding it miserable being there, so today I just feel weird as I'm not used to feeling unhappy. I guess I just needed to write my feelings down and begin getting things off my chest.

I'm sorry to change the tone on a Friday afternoon, especially as most of you have never spoken to me. Thanks for reading.

Hmm. What this calls for is a Chinese and a new DVD.

Yum yum yum.

Nah, I have no idea, sorry. :/

Hi Lord Meldrum... don't worry at all. Everyone likes to discuss random things like that. Being on the board is like having a load of friends to help out.

Have you ever tried Internet Dating... even if you don't find someone you like... you end up with tonnes of dates and it's great fun trying out different places to go to. There's no worry of spending a lot of money, unless you want to. :)

How's the job hunting going?

And SMILE! :)

Kitty Cam?

I haven't tried internet dating, I guess it's just not for me at the moment. I certainly wouldn't completely rule it out in the future, but just not now - thanks though.

Job hunting is tough, especially at the moment, but their do appear to be things out there worth applying for.

I smiled when I read 'and smile'. Thanks

I say being single is divine. No worries, no having to do all that consideration stuff. ;)

Thank the stars you were spared a relationship with someone who would just walk away one day. Who knows what else they could do. :D

On the job stuff........ maybe there are jobs in the UK but most places if you have one you better keep it. :(

I guess it's made a little worse because all of my close friends, literally all of them, have partners. It's then difficult to meet anyone as I don't want to be that weird man who goes to bars and clubs on his own and speaks to women.

Hmmm, I'd plump for going out and getting thoroughly drunk, but I know that's not to everyone's taste and/or benefit. Failing that, just remember to tell yourself that its not as bad as it seems. It doesn't seem like it, but in time you look back on major events like missing out on the girl or giving up your job as real epiphanal experiences, hopefully in a good way. Not meaning to put a downer on the end, just avoiding being trite. If you do decide to internet date, please consider allowing me to write your profile. I wrote one for my mate upon request: 'Caring Irish millionaire cunnilingus addict seeks female companionship for his twelve inch penis.' For some reason he decided against using it. No accounting for taste.

Oh no worry. All my friends are married or something something. I just work on liking the skin I am in. Relationships are a natural thing. Thy will either happen or not.

Just dance!!

Thats right stand up and have a dance!

I'm feeling sad too
I recently split up with my material.
We had some laughs, well we had one, could have been a cough I'm not sure.

The most Important thing when you split up with someone is to stay friends
( not with each other obviously :D )

Still valentines day is coming up soon, that always annoys me when I'm single
but not as much as when I actually have to buy something for someone.

Hope you feel better V soon

PS
Watch Not Going Out tonight.
And make sure you smile (as previously advised )

Read this list of of funny answers from Family Fortunes - makes me smile looking at them again.

Sad to hear that Lord Meldrum. I think the other advice is good, you have to try and change you mindset and decide to take a positive take on things again.

The only real bit of advice I can give if you are feeling a little down is for God's sake don't go wandering off into critique!

Laughing out loud

Not sure how to take that - I run my primal scream therapy sessions from there.
