1963. A good year unless you happen to be JFK or living by a slag heap in Aberfan.

I had a pretty free childhood. The river, canal and mountains were my play areas. Good stuff. And kids TV was much better. White Horses, Flashing Blade, Robinson Crusoe etc.. All dubbed nonsense of course but I loved 'em!

I'm glad I was born then. I'm also glad we never had computers when I was a kid. It kills kids sense of adventure because all of that is played out in video games and not the real world.

I mean look at Aaron. Living in an Anderson shelter and eating corned beef from the tin. He still thinks it's 1943 and is planniing his invasion of France as I type.
