Trying To Write

I'm trying to write some comedy stuff at the moment but I'm not getting very far. I've come up with loads of ideas for shows and written them down. Would anyone be interested if I listed down all of my ideas in this thread? Maybe some of you could pick out what the best ideas are in the list or something. It'd probably make me more focused.

Thanks :)

Ideas for show is no bad thing, but I'd say get something written first.

Also, I'd say it is easier to steal ideas (subconsciously or not) when they are listed in their simplest form. Best be on the safe side and keep them to yourself until you've developed and scripted them.

I pretty much agree with this glaikit. However, looking at it from another point of view, sometimes it might not be so much the idea itself that is pivotal but what the writer actually does with it that can turn something into a good piece of work or not.

I think jackinho44 needs to be aware of both elements and then take the decision to post or not.

Good point Deferenz.

Hmmm. Maybe a thread where people could post very basic ideas might be a good thing - it could work as a springboard, sparking different ideas in different writers. As long as the ideas were very basic (no longer than one-line pitches, maybe one or two words) then it might just work.

The key is character, not set-up. Get a set of characters always at each other's throats and you have your comedy.
