I've read that a lot of BSGers have been entrusted with the task of writing a panto or nativity. I would love to have a crack at one.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about getting the gig?

Ask around the teachers you know. In general, schools are looking for the cheapest thing possible so if you're 'free', you're cheap too!
I got the gig cos my sis's (who's a primary teacher) school bought some trite rubbish in and I was asked to modify it so it appealed to the adults. I ended up rewriting most of it. My god, it was tedious originally...

You could also seek out your local am dram societies, village drama groups etc. They might not want a whole panto, but often welcome co-writers, ideas, songs etc.
