You don't have to, but it will make your life a lot easier if you want one of the achievements. If you follow the advice I gave in an earlier post you can do it in a fun way.

Just read that you'll need a PlayStation Plus membership for online multiplayer gaming on PS4. Annoying.
Totally worth it.
If GTAV would have been bundled with PS4 on launch day, I would have bought one. But the first lot of games coming out don't appeal to me a all bar Watchdogs but I'm not paying £400+ for that!
