Need advice

Hello

Later this month my show will begin which is going to be running for a month in London. It is a 45 minute preview which is both a sketch show and a play in one. (A play about a group of out of work actors creating a sketch show with the sketches they create within the structure of the story). Most of what actually happens to us in real life as we create this play ends up in the script and its an enternal loop that keeps on growing. We are only doing a 45 min preview for the month but have been asked to extend it to a full 1 and a half hour play/show for a different venue. The thing is, as this is the kind of work that is already starting to grow and develop we want to invite some people along to see it at it's beginning stages and then hopefully as it develops we will mantain interest. As an actress I am used to inviting agents and casting directors along to plays but I'm not quite sure of who to invite to comedy shows.. and who is likely to accept the invite? Any ideas.. suggestions? Are there specific scouts and agencies I should be targetting for this kind of thing? Or is it best to try Edinburgh Festival and hope for the best?

Thanks

Sammy

Shit do you think you'll ever do a sitcom for this, coz I've started doing something real similar for a sitcom. Unimpressed

Edinburgh's definitely the best way - there'll be all those people you mention and then some. Literally every company that deals with comedy will have people in Edinburgh in August (and even many that don't).

Course you'll need good reviews in the first place to spark interest so it's probably a good idea to get a few reviewers down but as Griff says, sharpen your act before you let anyone near it.
