Am hunting down a word meaning hint or taste often used in cookery. I've always heard it as Soucance (Soo-sawn-s) but can't find it on Net. The closest I can find is the French Soupcon (Soop-saw) but, although this has the same meaning, this isn't how I've been hearing the word.
Can anyone confirm I've had crap in my ears for a decade please or whether I'm misspelling the real word?
