I heard much the same.

They are on the credits. I liked the Ricky Gervais sketch again and agree that they perform well. They just need better *cough* writers *ahem* for some of the other sketches.

The west-country guys coming out of the shop and telling us what they bought is a very unfunny rip-off of the Fast Show's "This week I've been mainly..." IMO

Didn't someone say The Dawson Brothers were involved with this?

Aren't they involved in everything? Well, that's what it feels like.

What else have they cropped up on, then?

I sky plussed this week so I could just watch the Xander sketch which was quite good, the rest was just shocking. It will get a 2nd series because Corden is the new darling of comedy who can do no wrong in the BBC's eyes.

I don't get the Ricky Gervais sketch, ok so Corden does a good impression of Brent, but you have to have the material to back it up and the RG sketches have been just laughable, and not in a good way.

What are the viewing figures like on this? Enough to justify a second series?

Well, the audience figures have been dropping every week, but I think it's still above the channel's average.

A story from Broadcast.

The BBC is in "advanced discussions" over a second series of the Tiger Aspect sketch show Horne & Corden, despite a poor critical reception.

However, the series which stars Gavin and Stacey actors Mathew Horne and James Corden, is not being considered for BBC2 as some reports have suggested.

Instead it would return to BBC Three where the first episode achieved 817,000 viewers earlier this year - the highest ratings for any comedy debut on the channel.

A BBC spokeswoman said: "We are in advanced talks with production and with James and Mathew about a second series on BBC Three." It has yet to be given the formal green light.

Horne and Corden have both spoken publicly about their loyalty to the channel and the fact that they felt it was the right place to launch their sketch show, despite being a position to pick and choose at the time.

Gavin and Stacey built on BBC Three and only moved its first run broadcasts to BBC2 for last year's Christmas Special. The third series currently being planned is expected to air on the terrestrial channel.

Can I be the first to say, "What the f**king hell do those c**ts at the BBC think they're doing?"

I think the show has been pretty poor so far, but it's got viewers; and I still think they show potential as a double act. Given a few extra good writers on a second series it could still yet work.

Harry And Paul demonstrates that a sketch show can be turned around with better writing. I'm pleased to hear that the BBC haven't just jumped straight into a second series as was originally reported though.

The more the merrier - or rather angrier.

Agreed.

The Beeb regard Horne and Corden as a potential future Ant and Dec, I think. It's all about the development of that potential, and so won't matter how few viewers their sketch show gets, what the relative quality is or what the feedback is. Unfortunately.
