Horne & Corden Page 24

Good: fart in the car, Xander (I still think he's great, even if it's the same week after week)

Indifferent: synchronised swimming, infomercial, Superman/Spiderman

Bad: Facebook girls, toilet prankster, Christian song, corduroys (reminded me of Fast Show's Jesse), office boaster, "shagged your mum", Jonny Lee Miller

Awful: gay reporter

In my opinion

Xander is the only slightly bright spark in an otherwise poor show. I bet it gets a second series though, just because of the success of Gavin & Stacey. Makes you wonder how much Ruth Jones has to do with the writing side of G&S, my guess is she does the majority, but what do I know. It's just that Corden has been unable to repeat his writing ability on this show which leads me to believe that Jones is the mastermind behind the G&S's good scripts.

Oh Kathy Burke, what have you done?

I've just always thought that Corden writes the scenes for Gavin and his family/friends, Jones writes for Stacey's family and friends, and they collaborate when the two gangs meet.

You can't blame her for the material but imagine what it might have been like with someone less good doing that job?

It was so poor last night, the highlight was the policeman from 'Allo 'Allo! turning up in one of the sketches.

He also featured in their super-late-night Comic Relief programme.

Cheese and tomato are shit separately, but when put together on a pizza they're magical.

I've not really seen that much of these two, I only ever watched one episode of Gavin and Stacey, just didn't do it for me.

This sketch show is very poor, I haven't laughed once. Was the second episode more of the same, fat one with his kit off, thin one acting a bit camp?

I'm fat and camp, am I a comedy god? No.

Yes, it was more or less the same.

Cheers Aaron.

On a separate note, are you having a party for your 50,000th post?

Jesus Aaron, given that the average wordcount for a novel is about 100,000 words, I reckon you've written between 5 and ten novels-worth. Probably more! Laughing out loud :O

Yep! :D

I should run some kind of prize draw and see who can guess the correct date I'll make it on.

I don't blame Kathy Burke, I'm just disappointed that she put her name on it. She should have watched the final edit and bolted out of the door.

Maybe they made her sign a "you have to admit you were in this" clause when she signed up.

I can't comment on tomato, but cheese is excellent. Even stand alone.

On the Kathy Burke front? Is she really that great? She's been in Harry Enfield and Gimme Gimme Gimme. And directed a few plays. It's hardly the stuff of legend.

I didn't think the first episode was that bad. I enjoyed it overall and will watch the second one soon. The standards expected are very high after G&S and some sketches may not have worked but there were a few good ones IMO.
