Writing for Radio

I was reading about BBC 7's sci-fi/fantasy/horror strand on another thread and was wondering how someone would submit a script to BBC 7 - is it the same deal as with Radio 4?

Is it just a case of writing a script and sending it to the BBC Writersroom and hoping they a) like it and b) know where to put it?

Or is it more of a case of finding out producers of existing shows that are similar to yours and e-mailing them?

With sitcoms and plays you can always chance your look with producers as well.
