Ebay stuff

I've been looking at a few items to sell on eBay in an attempt to declutter and earn a little extra cash. In helping clear my parents loft, I located a box of 22 'Homemaker' DIY magazines from 1959-1963 including issues 1, 2 and 3.

There's also a copy of Practical Householder from November 1962 and the Daily Mail Book of House plans from 1957 which they'd bought around the time they had the house built.

I've asked for a valuation on 60 international stamps dated 1950s-80s including ones from Southern Rhodesia and Ceylon, countries that no longer go by those names - they arenow Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka respectively. Again, I'm not expecting much but with the 1977 stamp catalogue I have, I could make around £8-10.

The most heart-wrenching sale will be of my Roy of the Rovers and Scoopcomics from 1979-1984. I have about 150 in total, maybe more but there comes a time in life where you just have get rid of stuff.

If anyone is interested in making an offer let me know.

Tuumble - I know from experience that if you sell stuff that's close to your heart for a measly few quid when the going gets tough, you'll regret it.

A few years ago I wasn't doing so well financially and sold my keyboard. The money I made on it paid for half of that month's mortgage. I could've just asked the mortgage company for a bit of leeway but no - it was a knee-jerk reaction and I've regretted it ever since.

There's someone on eBay selling 50 Roy Of The Rovers comics from the era you mentioned for a tenner. Is it worth losing a treasured childhood memory for a few quid mate? Keep 'em, that's what I say.

I know what you mean, Lee - I pine away every night at the loss of my Natwest piggies.

I agree. If you like stuff, keep it. My missus sold loads of her CDs a while back just because money was a little bit scarce and she threw a strop about having so much clutter. Fortunately I and a mate who had also sold a load of his CDs a few years earlier talked her out of selling any more. She's already regretting selling some that she cannot now replace and we didn't even really need the money at the time - we were a bit skint, not flat out broke or up to our ears in debt.

I would never get rid of them all but would keep back say, half a dozen of each. We haven't got the space size we had to downsize and we're still skint so anything to lighten the load.

That 23rd January date in my signature is looming and if the decision goes the wrong way, nostalgia will be the least of our worries.

Let's be honest, they've been in my parents attic since I left home in 1986 so they are hardly what you'd call treasured items. Just a few will be fine.

So what is the date for?

I can't be Pacific to be honest but it could be either very good news or very bad news and it involves money. Draw your own conclusions.

I would buy your Homemakers but I am saving money myself.

Is the capital P in Pacific a clue? Something to do with the ocean? (I don't know why I'm trying to guess, I'm not6 that interested)

To bloody right they're so valuable they could bail the country out of it's recession.

I have 2 Bachman (published as Bachman) books one signed by Stephen King, a 1st edition of Dungeons and Dragons, Issues 1-10 of White Dwarf and Dragon, 300,000 unsold 118 118 jokes, that iplod joke what was in the Sun and 20 kilos of uncut heroin.

Reckon I can get enough to retire if I sell those on ebay?

My precious valuable My little ponies that my stoopid mother gave away. I don't think I'll ever forgive her for that one.
