Quote: Griff @ January 12 2009, 9:45 PM GMTMy aged and eccentric uncle once arranged for NTL to install Internet at his house.
They came, accidentally drilled a hole in his gas pipe, covered it up with gaffer tape, finished the job, and left.
A few hours later a neighbour alerted British Gas because the stench of gas could be smelt everywhere. (He of course was asleep in the front room, either pissed up from lunch or in the early stages of gas poisoning.) British Gas had to wake him up, evacuate him from the house, and the neighbours from their houses, while this was made safe, and fined NTL for vandalising their gas pipe.
Oh my! That does not sound very good work ethics.
