Favourite sketch?

Anyone else see the repeat of the top 50 sketches on E4 last night? What are your top three sketches ?

The ones that tickle my comedy buds are:

Jockey Safari - Big Train (so silly and visually so effective - a lion hunting the jockeys would have still been great but having The Artist Formerly known as Prince - inspired!!)

Mastermind - The Two Ronnies (the best sketch, for me, on paper ever, and not a bad delivery!)

One Leg Too Few - Beyond the Fringe (a little snippet, if i may. when Cook is presented with a one legged Moore auditioning for the part of Tarzan.........

Peter
Need I say without over much emphasis that it is in the leg division that you are deficient.

Dudley
The leg division?

Peter
Yes, the leg division, Mr. Spiggott. You are deficient in it to the tune of one. Your right leg I like. I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role. That's what I said when I saw you come in. I said "A lovely leg for the role." I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is - neither have you. You fall down on your left.

:D

Breakfast. Previn Plays Grieg. Would have to think about a third.

There are loads of sketches that are a masterclass in great comedy writing but these 3 were the first that sprang to mind.

Fork Handles
One Leg Too Few
Previn Plays Greg

Argument Sketch- Python
Four Candles- 2 Rons
Spanish Inquisition- Python

I'd have to give this a bit of thought but I agree with 2 Ronnies Mastermind. So well structured. I'll come back when I've thought of some more "memorable" ones.

Yeah a tough one really it would have to be a python one or a 2 ronnies possibly... I don't know why but the "ritz, titz" sketch from big train sticks in my head and jesus sacking the devil sketch.

"who wants to see my monkey impression?" Classic!

Three that appeal to me (weren't in the top 50 as previously mentioned):

Man Stroke Woman -- Very first episode when the bloke wakes up and tries to creep away from the woman he's slept with but it's his wife.

Big Train -- Teaching the kid to ride a bike ('That was good but, next time, don't go *on fire*')

Man Stroke Woman -- The Bank Robbery in the second series, where he's trying to pay cheques in at lunchtime.

Oh! And Mitchell and Webb's 'Fish and Chip' sketch. That was genius!

Dan

The first one I always think of is Not the Nine O'Clock News. With the ape interview. Love it.

The four Yorkshire Men Sketch is my all time fave. The ministry of silly walks is a close second. The wanking in the cupboard from Big Train is my third.

1. Fork Handles
2. Dead parrot
3. Chandalier Scene in only fools
4. The office when they have the training guy in and they have this line. Ricky....I think someone is being raped up there.
5. Father Ted when they are writing (Crazy Horse)

I could easily sit here for 16 whole hours and add more & more, but the chicken wont cook itself, and no other fooker is offering.

I'll "cook your chicken" for you Charley.

>_<

Are we stuffing the bird?

For some reason I seem to remember someone saying that the Two Ronnie's Mastermind sketch was sent in by an external writer (who went on to become a famous sitcom writer). I can't remember who it was though?!?
