It's very interesting reading people's opinions about this show as I personally think it's great.
With regards to the quote about Duncan above, he is doing what the script says and I think he is doing it very well indeed.
I have never seen him as a publicity hungry ex-boybander, instead as someone who is trying to make something out of his career.
And I think well done to him for being so versatile....!!
I think Plus One is a fresh and funny show that is showing a new side to celebrity culture and taking the mickey out of it.
Well done Channel 4 for getting a comedy right in my eyes....just read the reviews and you will see it is on whole a very good series.

I don't need to read the reviews to make my mind up.

What new side of celebirty culture is it showing? Celebrity culture is a parody of itself anyway.

We'll agree to disagree, if this constitutes fresh and funny then God help us all.

Re: Duncan - yes he's only reading the script, but a big so fecking what? He's bland and if he is actually making you laugh then, well...good God. Do you actualy think 'Duncan's a Twat' is funny and merits a slap on the back for being able to show he's 'one of us' really? It's just a vehicle in which he eagerly shows us all he can take a joke. I still would rather watch him than Rob Black though, which sums it up.

I actually think it's a good show....if you hate it so much then why are you watching it? I really don't understand people like you who are so quick to put people and new shows down! It's people like you who are obviously so unhappy in your own life, you need to put things down to make you feel better!

Plus One in my opinion is great...very funny and well written. Duncan James is doing his part in this very well....it ain't no Oscar winning performance but then again for what it is, I think he is doing it well!
Bob Black's character is being played brilliantly by Daniel Mays who is a HUGE actor and talent.

If you don't like Plus One...then SWITCH OFF!!!

Edited by Aaron - grammar.

I'll watch what I want cheers. It's funny, I mean obviously you're spot on with everyting you say, but I remember watching other new shows and thinking they were great. In fact isn't every show at one time - new? I'm pretty sure I've liked some new shows.

Look if you like Duncan James that much I'll stop slagging him off. Console

As for the rest of the drivel I laughed my way through, cheers, - since you don't want to discuss the show on a thread for discussing the show and instead throw all your toys out the pram, offer up an amuteur character analysis of someone you don't, thankfully for me, know and put things in capital letters to emphasise your point then we'll leave it - ta.

Well done silvio! You're obviously much more intelligent than me!...Nice one.

IMO, the best episode yet. Laughed a lot throughout, despite that painful ending. :)

Even if it did get Mysterious Girl stuck in my head. >_<

Brilliant episode tonight. And I never saw that dancing scene coming. Hands up who was ready to cringe and thought Rob would be crap? But he was good...and then he kicks Laura in the face!!

The best new comedy of 2009 so far.

And are they planting the seeds for Rob/Laura and Rob's sister/Rob's best mate?

Could very well be, yes.

As soon as he started, and was good, I was expecting him to fall flat on his own face, not smash Laura!

Haha, really good episode. Daniel May's dancing had me lol'ing. I also liked the whole twix scene. Oh, and the bit where Rob was dressed as Jesus was also funny.

Ingrid Oliver is great too. She get's a laugh out of every line.

I liked the use of "Paper Planes," even if it was in the background.

P.S. Does anyone think they could get another series out of this? I read an interview with Nigel Harman where he said he writers had some ideas. I hope it happens.

And I loved the insulting songs about Linsey spoof commercial.

Great ep tonght! How funny was the dancing bit??!! lol
I never saw that coming...brilliant!
Hope they make a second series.
Ingrid was brill again tonight so was Daniel Mays...just not enough Duncan! :(

Quite enjoyed it tonight, hardly an ill placed f-word in sight and Rob had calmed down a tad.

Still not completely won over by the show but raised more than a few smiles. Dancing scene was great.

Thought last night was the better one though I think that they could have built up the emotion between him and the girl he works with a little bit more - it felt slightly contrived.
Also, despite being fairly two dimensional I think the brother character is starting to emerge as the best one.

No, no - still stand by every word of it - first two were awful. :P

Much improved last night - less Duncan and less moaning, more character development and the dancing scene was genuinely funny. Hopefully keeps it up.
