Music channels on TV

Do any of you put these on when there's nothing else on TV? Or as music in the background when you're working?

I hate MTV...whats the point in a music channel not playing any music at all? And My Super Sweet Sixteen is the only decent programme they show, andthat's only good because the kids are so obnoxious and annoying!

What do you guys think of them? And how would they be better?

Nuclear bombs would improve them.

I only have the two on Freeview. Very rarely watch them as it's almost all music I don't like.

And they are becoming like MTV in that it's mostly shitty American TV shows about 'real life' teens and their horrible shallow lives.

I have MTV2 on in the background a lot. It struck me as odd too that MTV doesn't have music on!

Not a music fan?!

During the breaks, I have to scan all the music channels.

MTV is utter trash TV. But I'll admit to watching Sweet Sixteen too, I somehow enjoy getting annoyed at that show?

Q is my favourite, has the highest hit rate for good songs.

Q seems a bit rubbish to me. I flick between MTV2, NME and Kerang.

Not hugely. But most certainly not of music channels.

Well nerr :P.

Brit Hits looks quite good, although it's still new, so I'm not sure yet. MTV2 is OK.

Instead of those shows, wouldn't it make more sense for them to have music related shows? Like maybe one where they show new music of small bands who are tipped for the future...I know I'd certainly like to hear new stuff rather than the same songs over and over again that a lot of those channels play.

Yeppers.

MTV has been sucky for years. I occasional watch their hi-def channel called Palladia. It's mainly performances with the occasional video. They show a lot of UK festival footage: V Festival, etc. Lots of repeats, so I only pause there when something new is on.

Music TV channels? You don't have to tune in. You can hunt around until you find something you like, or ignore their existence altogether.

Currently watching VH1 Classic - showing Supertramp performing Give a Little Bit [live].

Unlike us internet folk who's lives are as deep as a silo of shit.

Well I don't think my 'sweet sixteen' birthday party is worth an hour's show. :)
Mainly filled with me crying because I didn't get given the correct model of Mercedes.
