Typical sitcom structure etc...

I searched around but could not find it, but does anyone knows a site where I can find the sitcom structures for for example Will ad Grace? Or maybe there is software that gives you a typical structure?

This thread would be better off in Writer's Discussion mate.
If you have a read through there you might even find the info you're after.

What he said. Thread moved.

If by "structure" you mean script formatting, then yes, "Final Draft" v7 has many templates, including "Will and Grace".. see:

http://www.finaldraft.com/support/software/templates/

No, not the formating, more the story structure. 3 acts, what happens where, etc...

I found something that probably will help me:

maybe you know more of this kind of sites?

Andreas do you talk to yourself at home as well?

Sorry - not being rude - found it funny reading this thread.

Best thing to do is watch sitcoms and study their structure.

MIKEY!

:O

Of course! I just watched an 8 hour marathon of Friends!

Andreas, not 100% sure where you're coming from are you talking common storylines?

Or plot sub plot structures?

If you're looking for transcripts you can find loads via our old friend Google.

Hi Paul, yes that's what I mean: How to build the plot itself. How and when to introduce the problems etc. There are tons of programs for the film industry to do this, but I cannot find anything for sitcom.

I'd get myself on Amazon, there are quite a few books on sitcoms there. I've just ordered some but can't comment on them yet because they seem to be being shipped via the moon.

I would suggest Marc Blake - I don't get paid for writing that unfortunatly.

cheap little book and gives you the foundations to build on with your writing.
