British Comedy Guide

What stuff do you write other than comedy? Page 3

Short plays, long plays, novels, short stories, songs!

I started out writing comedy after doing pretty well in a competition, but realised pretty soon that I was more suited to drama and comedy drama. I've just finished a one-hour script and I'm currently working on two more and a 20 minute short.

I'd love to write a play too, but being a TV addict all my life, I think I'll stick with that for now.

I write TV stuff and book stuff and poetry stuff and theatre stuff sometimes and Christmas cards. Not like Lee writes Christmas cards, just stuff like Happy Christmas and that. And songs... well one or two but I am just started having guitar lessons and am struggling with the B chord.

I write horror. Also Sci-Fi/ horror- comedy. I write poetry when I'm sad and I don't show it to anyone. I've also written a song about a space station that is both humorous and wistful. Errr

I am writing a book with what I call a co-author but she has corrected me and said she is my editor. I still shall call her my co-author because she corrects spelling, sentence structure...some and translates words I mess about.

I have moved to her town to live close by her as set up by her. I am also doing all the art for the book which is what I enjoy much over the writing part. She does stay on me about being on her words "DEADLINES"

I am always stressing her by being in her words "LAST MINUTE CHARLIE"

I am not some great scholar or a great anything, I just had a story to tell and was approached to do it.

So do, I am!!!

I have been told to use B7 instead!

:)

Here is a song I wrote which was on the telly.

I have a wife and kids. So I write a lot of cheques.

Writing comedy is not my forte, I've been working on a sitcom but that's it, I write dramas and films.

I'm a crimefighter in the wee hours, so I right lots of wrongs...

I thought that was a pencil to write with.

We're putting a stage show together comprising 7 short plays in a variety of styles. We're filming it tomorrow and then intend sending it to various fringe theatres to see who may want to stage it.

I thought it was a vitamin.

I write poetry that is sad and I don't show it to anyone. Except I think I put my poem about Dennis Waterman on a message board last.
