Went to see Martin Clunes filming Perrin last night at Teddington Studios, really enjoyed as I have never been to one before. I was only working 3 miles down the road, but had to drive back to Portsmouth afterwards. If you have'nt been to one before I would strongly recommend it.
Watching sitcom being filmed
But more to the point, was Perrin itself any good?
Strong cast, well acted, didn't seem much of a plot, the external scenes were funny, can't wait to see it all put together, really enjoyed the whole experience.
So it's not a total abomination which shits in the face of the original then?
Got a modern look to it, Neil Stuke plays CJ, Faye Riply his wife and the dad in 'worst week of my life' plays his father in-law. I enjoyed it hope it works.
Ooh. Very interesting!
So... it's not Rising Damp?
I didn't get where I am today by getting my Leonard Rossiter-starring sitcoms confused.
Never be as good as Rising Damp, Clunes is good but not that good.

I thought it was a remake of that one.
No wonder I didn't get it.

That sounds exciting, good on you, I say!!!
Never been to one, really enjoyed it even the constant reshoots, sometimes hard having to do the same laugh third time at the same thing.

Aww! Sorry! I would have thought the name was a giveaway.
I think a new take on Rising Damp could work more effectively, and with less scope for desecration, than one of The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin though.
I agree, maybe with Rik Mayal as Rigsby
