Superb, Sir.
And Soot, I'm way there with dystopia. I do love things that are more depressed than myself.

Quote: Griff @ December 11 2008, 8:37 PM GMTThere was a sketch on Tilt last year about a radio version of the Steve Jackson books, "If you fight the troll the next episode is tonight at 11.30, if you steal the gold the next episode is on Wednesday at 7" etc.
That sketch was one of the best ones I've heard ever.
Such a shame so few people will ever enjoy it.

I did the Jackson interactive books which is even more shameful.
Agree with LOTR. Sil is tedium. I had a friend who began learning Elvish. Needless to say he was too normal for my liking but I loved thrusting my finger at the Elvish poetry within LOTR and asking he read it aloud. Mainly because it made me laugh. If you've heard bad Elvish in a Welsh accent, you'll know what I mean.
I did those, all of them and I mean all of them. Even the weird Irish ones.
And Elvish I believe is very close to Welsh.
The best book I ever read was called The Witches. I read it about 15 years ago and it was the single most trashy, disgusting, tawdry piece of gory, sex-filled shit I've ever laid eyes upon. But absolutely brilliant.
I've looked for it online (there was supposed to be a series of them) but to no avail.
Truthfully, I now probably read one book a year. Two at a push. My swotty wife reads one book a week. Our bedroom's like f**king Watersones.
Which The Witches? Is it that mental one by Roald Dahl?

Not Roald Dahl then.
Dahl's The Witches is awesome too though.
Never read it, but I love the film.
Yeah! The film's ace too.
Our teacher used to read us that book aaaall the time at first school. She did all the witches as Germans.
(Don't know if they actually were German in the book.... were they?)
Err, well I always got the impression that the Grandma was meant to be Austrian or German. Y'know, the town at the beginning of the film and that. So probably.
Hmm. I don't know if she did the granny German though.
JUST THE EVIL PEOPLE.
Well, it is at their core. (Germans. And evil people. One and the same. Innit.)
Yeah! That Finck!
Puuuuure evil.
Prezunctly.
I read a book a week.
Yeah the first LOTR book is a snoozer, it's filled with "The hobbits and co walk along the road a little bit, they notice the dark riders coming then they hide in a ditch, and then they walk along a little bit more then notice the black riders coming so they hide in a ditch again, then they walk a little more and....".
Any country that creates the genius of the Shamwow can't be all that evil.
