I could never do a Linehan style 'Man who looks like a magician' plot because it's so out there and detached from everything.

That's probably close to the kind of thing I would write.

The nuttier the person the better, I think (within reason). As Seefacts says, though, I take comedy writing incredibly seriously. T x

supermodel's cat having to "dance" around in human clothes in a dogs' private club?

What I like about this is people probably think you're joking.

If not, I want to see that show!

If we ever get round to writing it, you might well do.

It's going to be like 'Chinese Democracy' this script.

Not worth the wait? Come on now, that's not the right kind of attitude at all!

Tim, did those people send you their scripts uninvited, or politely ask you first if you would take a look?

It's all right, Griff, all the more for you.

What on earth makes you think Bandage even slightly resembles the Mekon?

He's far more attractive.

I thought it was a superhero.

I always know where I am with Fritzell-Grinch.

This was a top notch watch. I found Tony Jordan really annoying though.

Re: the plot discussion, I never start a draft until the characters are fully explored and the plot and sub-plot have been worked out. I use that to produce a scene list and then start writing.

I know a lot of people are keen to jump in early but I can't work that way. My attitude to writing is very much like my world-view, which is all about analysis and comprehension before committing an action, not acting on-the-fly.

I'm not popular in the queue at Greggs.

Does any one else find discovering things about the characters as you write more than a little scary?

Not really; you do realise you're just making it up don't you?! ;)

Yeah, but when they suddenly pull axes on you, it's really hard to keep calm. :)

watched programme and enjoyed it, left me feeling like i'm not in this alone and confident there is a light at the end of a very big tunnel.

Shut it, Mekon.
