I do find that Scottish tennis player quite funny. He's like a surly teenager with a chip on his shoulder about everything. I thought it was particularly funny last year when he said he didn't mind who won the world cup as long as it wasn't England. Unfortunately he didn't have the backbone to stick to this line, and soon backtracked when he realised it might lose him sponsorship deals. Wuss. If he was a true Scotsman, he'd wear his hatred of the English with pride.

It took me years to work out that a LOCH and a LOUGH were the same thing.
Britcom Barry. I think the Irish sitcom you mean was called "give my head peace". I remember staggering home on a saturday night and in my drunken state proclaiming to anyone that would listen that this was the greatest sitcom ever written ever. http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/gmhp
England has got to win this simply due to quantity as mentioned before but if being judged on quality then the debate thickens and us smaller nations are in with a genuine shout. I do think the funniest guy on TV right now is Frankie Boyle though who just so happens to be Scottish - but hey, maybe that's just MY bias coming out.

FOOTNOTE: If it wasn't for a Scot inventing the TV I guess we wouldn't be able to see all those great English comedians anyway. I guess you could see them on YouTube but as you need a telephone connection (also courtesy of this great nation) then you would be scuppered there too.
Just trying to fight our corner (desperately).
Dara O'Briain would win my vote as funniest at the moment. And Mock the Week is great, best of both worlds.

Frankie Boyle is indeed very funny, but I think I prefer Russell Howard. And Hugh Dennis.
I didn't know Yogi Bear was scottish.
Smarrrrrrrter than your average Baird!
(etc etc)
Oh and I just remembered who Frankie Boyle is - that bloke off Mock the Week and - yes he is very clever and funny.
