You're a writer? Really? Page 9

Agree 100%. I turned 35 last week and I reckon this is the perfect time to start....still young enough to be young but with 20 years of adult experience. I'm working on the basis that Gervias wrote the Golden Years at about 35/36 so I'm on track to stardom!

Apart from Mr Gervais, I always bear in mind that Debbie Harry was at her peak in her 30s. :D

At 33 Harrison Ford was building cupboards for George Lucas!

William Golding was in his forties when Lord of the Flies came out. And E. Annie Proulx was something like 55 when her first book came out.

Actually Gervais was at his peak in his forties. He's like 47 or 48 now isn't he?

I think he was about 38 when he wrote The Office? Gives me a bit of time anyway...

60 is the new 38.

You can never be too old to be a writer or a jazz/blues musician. I have recently stated taking guitar lessons just in case.

Got to love those E, A and D chords. Man.

:)

i think - born 61 so that makes his time line:

35/36 ish ... meet Steve 37/38 .... Golden Years 38-40 .... 11 0'clock / meet ricky 40 .... write the office 41/42 ... become famous and roll down hill from there!

Hope for us all!

He's talented - no question - but luck comes into the equation. If there'd been more inteference on the Office, or it just hadn't gelled, then he could just have been another mediocre professional panellist nowadays.

Yeah, but they could be post-ironic, funny blues.

THE DIRTY BOURBON GLASS BLUES

I woke up this morning with a pain in my head
So I took some ibuprofen
And I went back to bed.

Doesn't Marc wear those annoying little John Lennon glasses? He could always try a Beatles tribute act.

Woke up this morning with a smell in the bed.
See my girlsfriend completely dead.
Oh I've got the necrophilia blues.

I'm learning the ukulele. Thought it might come in useful.

Wasn't The Office written about 1999/2000? So Gervais would have been 38/39 if he was born in 1961?

Are you going to send him a card?

Actually I have just ordered a pair of these.
