The ultimate taboo? Page 16

No, quite the opposite in fact. I'm perfectly happy in my emotional detachment from my sense of humour. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I'm proud of it.

I get the feeling you have selected what you find funny based on creating the impression you wish to give people ahead of your true palate for humour. It's a "if you can't beat them, sit on on your own" approach to life where shock value helps. I don't think having kids will help (as some have suggested) i think finding someone who would want to have kids with you is the bigger stimulus to "join in" with the normal folk. Not that you should, there's nothing wrong with how you are if you dont hurt others.....every Breakfast Club needs it's Ally Sheedy.

You're not really called Spock are you?

I can safely say that, no, I am not.

And have never been called it before either. C**t, dickhead, twat, knob, etc. But never Spock.

Didn't you want to settle down and get married at a young age? Because you're really not selling yourself to the nice young ladies out there.

Prurient:

having or encouraging an excessive interest in sexual matters.

Prudish:

prude

noun a person who is easily shocked by matters relating to sex or nudity.

You wrote "prurient". Which was 100% wrong. This is not uncommon in your posts.

I meant the hypocritical fascination that accompanies the urge to censor which would be prurient.

As oposed to the prudish desire to censor what one doesn't wish to know about.

e.g. I may pruriently read goat porn to wish to ban it, whilst secretly masturbating to it.

Or I could prudishly burn said magazines on a pile with out even looking at the treats within.

I have that detachment too.
I think a lot of people do.
Unfortunately not those among the popular crowd on this thread. :)

We will have to be the outcasts again Aaron. For a change...

?

Can we detach humour from our emotions? I can understand how some people (doctors for example) need to detach their logic from their emotions, but I can't see how humour can be detached. You're not really called Spock are you?

I can I prefer to understand the structure of a joke, then laugh at it.

Without sounding patronising and as much as I would like to say I'm only 21, I'm wondering if age has anything to how people see this? I just think with more years and life experience one's opinions of these sort of subjects change. I think over time many people learn to put themselves into other people's shoes?

Or is that just footwear theft?

n.b. tub girl was worse.

So a pic of a woman in the bath pooing on herself is worse than a movie of two scat-crazed lesbians eating fresh dump from one another's arses and drinking each other's vomit?

Can't see how. Sick

I doubt you're much older than me, Dolly.

So. No.

I don't really like seeing dead-eyed girls pretending to enjoy something in order to buy more smack. Too depressing.

It's a poor joke where you can do that. It's like watching a movie and working out how they did the CGI.....i'd rather be sat there being scared/thrilled/etc.

No you didn't. This is just weaseling. Your constant inaccurate use of vocabulary in order to add gravitas to your posts just makes them muddled and unconvincing.

More it's the diference between concrete and formal reasoning.

You know the specific inflexible meaning of words, but lack the ability to flexibley mould these meanings.

Which I as an formal reasoner can.

As such it's easy for me to see a prurient interest in porn, can be linked to a duality in one's morality.

Throw away your dicitionary it's choking your prose.
