Enjoyed this muchly, could visualise it with ease.
It works, however I feel a stonger ending would give a greater reward!

Any ideas on what that ending could be random?
Just a point on character names.. I'm an actor and I've often had scripts that change the character name half way down. Especially if they change identidy - for example in A Midsummer's Nights Dream Francis Flute plays Thisbe in the play within a play and with it his character name on the script changes. And Puck's character is sometimes randomly written as Robin Goodfellow for no apparent reason.
This happens a lot in theatre, maybe different for tv etc... but for me just having two names makes it more confusing not less. Also with regards to 'actors find it hard to read' when both names start with the same letter.. again I've not experienced this! How did the voice over guys for Bill and Ben ever cope? I changed the other one to Mick just in case though.
I've only read the newest version. I thought it was very well written and easy to read. It's a nice idea too, but I agree with random on the ending. Although I did like the "At least look at the next one..." line, made me smile.
Dunno Sammy, maybe if it was wrote for film not stage you could have the camera only showing their upper bodies all the way through.
Untill the end, as that is when the camera pulls out to reveal their bottom halves, they are both wearing...
Dunno
?
Shit, sorry... thought I had something
Or maybe:
MICK
Look lets just pretend we never met.. this whole situation is getting out of hand... I'll see you around
BOB
At least look at the next one... it's the best one!
BOB starts to peel off his burglar clothes to reveal a dress
MICK (unsure)
Bob... is that you?
BOB looks confused.
MICK
It's me... Mick!
MICK swiftly peels away his clothes also revealing a dress.
BOB (surprised/smiles)
Mick!
MICK & BOB
Shall we?
THEY BOTH WALK OFF ARM IN ARM.
Aww I like it! Good idea Random
Your welcome
I think Midsommer Night's Dream is a special case as it's a play within a play.
We had some discussion on here before about changing names & decided that Superman v Clark Kent was also a special case.
Yeah but with regards to Puck/Robin Goodfollow that isn't in the play within a play part and it happens a lot in plays other than MSND. But anyway.. it doesn't matter as I have both versions now!
You're not aloud to talk about Shakespeare around here, he's been bard.
I use Pyramus & Thisby as test 'data' for my Scriptwriter's Toolkit, because it's just a nice convenient length.
Here it is in FILM format.
