Fogey Derikkson

RADIO ADVERT

V.O.

Are you a blast from the past?
Don't you wish your mobile phone was to?
Does the only music you want to listen to on the move come on a 12 inch sheet of vinyl?
If you wanted to send a text, would you write a telegram?
Are the last pictures you took still being developed?
Well the new Fogey Derikkson 65 comes packed full with one feature, so you KNOW you're not pressing the wrong button
The new Fogey Derikkson 65 make a phone call today

And now if you sign up to any contract we will give you a state of the art gramophone absolutely free!

I like this especially as they are making OAP friendly phones.

It's nicely developed and funny.

Very good, but perhaps you need to think a bit more laterally when it comes to the free gift, just to make it more surprising. (You have already referred to vinyl in the body of the sketch.)

Hmm, you like your radio adverts, don't you? :)

Personally, I think this one would work better as two people chatting: old person going into a mobile phone store (maybe even thinking it's some fish and chip shop or something) and being sold the phone above by an over-enthusiastic salesperson.

You could use most of the same lines (-ish) and be making a comment about older people not really understanding technology, regardless of how dumbed-down it is to them.

Dan

yeah, most of these sketches were written for RFTP so were done with radio in mind!
