On IFC channel there is a sitcom called Z Rock about a Brooklyn NY band called ZO2. They're a trio, two brothers, David Z and Paulie Z and drummer Joey Cassata.
They have a kids band called The Z Brothers they do during the day doing birthdays and bar mitzvahs. The show is parts fiction and non fiction. The bands are real and ZO2's album Ain't It Beautiful is great rock.
The 1st season of 10 episodes just ended with the band reluctantly signing a contract with John Popper(Blues Traveler) for The Z Brothers while their manager is trying to get a contract for ZO2 with record producer Harry Bronstein. John Popper is out to get back at Harry for having Dave Matthew's violin player sleep with his wife by having one of the band sleep with Harry's wife,(which David already did) to get them out of the contract.
This is a very funny sitcom, it's uncut and has loads of guest stars like Dave Navarro, Dee Schneider, Joan Rivers, Sebastian Bach and Gilbert Godfrey.
