Comedy Toboggan

Bloody hell, this is short notice! I'm pretty sure it wasn't there last time I checked Writers' Room (Monday/Tuesday sometime)!

Anyway, London area, 5 sketches up to 5 minutes each. Deadline 5pm TOMORROW (Friday 14th!)

Yeah I got an RSS alert about this other day and couldn't believe the deadline was so soon!

Do they have to be Christmas/winter sketches?

There does not seem to be anything to suggest that.

As Timbo says, can't see anything to suggest as such.

Dan

It's not the best contest in the world.

It's not the best contest in the world.

Any chance of your elaborating on that?

I went to the show last year, it's not like you'd be winning much.

:D I did wonder. Are the cast sufficiently up to the mark to make it worthwhile test of the material?

About as much as anyone you'll get.

I had part of a serious play presented by 'em, they're good 'n' enthusiastic and ready to plug new voices. Like the Sitcom Trials.

I completely forgot to enter this.

Did anyone enter this, and if so with any success?

I entered but nowt back yet. DumbFUNDED had a similar competition at a similar time last year - that was pretty good - not sure it's happening again this year though.

Talking of Dumbfunded, I seem to remember that comp doing a fart in a jacuzzi. Didn't they say they were so impressed with the material they received they were going to rethink the contest? And then nothing? Last I heard of it anyway.

Cue all of you telling me how your stageplays were produced to rapturous reception while a folded version of mine still props the stubby chair leg in the intern's office.
