Do they take bets on how many horses will die during the Grand National?

It is disgusting the Grand National. If humans want to risk their lives for money, then great, but to make the horseys do it is well out of order.

But they've got two women jockeys this year, so my sympathies are torn.

EDIT: They should definitely let women ride in the Grand National and ban it at the same time. See, I can be a liberal.

I actually just wanted to know whether they did or not, rather than a Renegade Rantâ„¢. ;)

I would have thought they take bets on pretty much anything, but then I don't know anything about betting.

And one hell of a grudge, but I was really just making the point that we have had enough borderline misogynistic forays into the world of feminine psychology without opening up the scope of the debate further.

Can't we all just go back to ogling pics of hot women in the "Who do you fancy?" thread?

Preferably ones with severe injuries, a bit more Macho and exciting, the silly little tarts bless! ;)

How about allowing men to ride women at the Grand National?

I guess the odds of survival are a little better than bullfighting but I'm surprised that the event is still allowed to take place.

They do seem to make a dogs dinner of it.

Then how about allowing men to ride bulls in the Grand National? That way everyone wins - the race continues and the bulls get an increased life expectancy...

Tursiop if you want to have sex with farmyard animals in publicthat's fine.

But expecting it to happen on TV and people bet on it.

Thats just vanity.

Australian TV awards are on tonight. The big award is called The Gold logie. Is voted on by the public and goes to the "most popular" person in televison. It is always the last award given

The awards ceromony is still been broadcast on TV but is on delay so the ceromony has in fact finished. One of the papers here reported about a hour ago on their website who has won.

There is susposed to be an embargo until the show has gone to air. Someones head is going to roll tomorrow.

Of course most of the public probably don't care but televison and print media will, so will have to put with hearing about it for a week.

This guy's obituary cracked me up:

That's brilliant. Laughing out loud

Ha.
"...brother Stephen Blanchard (Susan)." Intriguing!

"...brother Stephen Blanchard (Susan)." Intriguing!

I think that's the standard way of mentioning a spouse's name in obituaries: Stephen Blanchard's wife is Susan Blanchard.
