I read the news today oh boy! Page 765

I have no problem with the Beeb making populist nonsense, I do have a problem with them ripping off or buying formats that have already been successful on other channels / countries.

It's difficult to believe that an organisation that prides itself on the imaginations of it's talent should stoop so low as to get into bidding wars / wholesale theft of instantly forgetable mindless rubbish.

There are people on this forum who could tell you how many times Doctor Who used his sonic screwdriver, how many guests stayed at Fawlty Towers and can name the entire cast of Dads Army - but none of them - not a single one of them - not even the chicks - can remember who won the X Factor, The Apprentice and Strictly Come Dancing three years ago.

Does anally nerdy obsessive behaviour make a television show credible? You bet it does.

Totally agree.

It's also a massive cheat. The BBC gets a huge budget from the license fee, that they get frankly whatever. Except they can top up with selling DVDs, shows overseas and co-productions. So playing the competition game and trying to outperform ITV in the viewing figures is a bit like a guy boasting he won a boxing match. He brought a gun too.

Is anyone else having trouble with the Titanic 'celebrations'? Is putting on a costume and going on a cruise the best way to commemorate the deaths of a thousand people?

If so, do you think people will dress up as terrorists for my 9/11 twin towers fly by extravaganza?

Don't worry, Gideon has it all under control . . .

Don't you know the difference between commemoration and celebration? After all, they're spelled completely differently, and apart from that, there's probably some other difference.

Am I the only person who secretly wants that cruise to run into into some sort of trouble and they all have to be evacuated in their silly costumes?

And does that make me a bad person.

We've all thought it!

I assumed an iceberg had already been towed into place ready to play its part in the re-enactment; after all what's the point otherwise? Hopefully they have also planned to not have enough lifeboats.

Yes most of us want the necrophiliac c**ts to drown

They've probably got Julian Fellowes on board to give people bits of shockingly expositional dialogue.

Low social status results in a reduced immune response. Next time my boss asks what I intend to do about the amount of sick leave I am taking I shall suggest that he should promote me.

Abu Hamza has finally been kicked out of Britain! \0/

No doubt, there will be those who view him as some sort of misunderstood underdog and that the UK shouldn't have released him to the US legal system.

It's a bizarre world where we can prosecute someone for hate crimes on Twitter, but if they plan to actually blow people up, we treat them like some sort of hero.

Never underestimate the confused liberal. They are a contentious and contradictary breed, easily swayed by emotional rhetoric and middle class white guilt.

Why do you think we had to go all the way to the European Court of Human Rights to get rid of the hate mongers?

Because the laws in this country are all f**ked up.

I'd be surprised if you actually could find someone who genuinely feels sorry for Abu Hamza. Liberal or not. (Unless they are called Trenton Oldfield. For he has the wrong opinion on everything.)

Hurrah !

Let's hear it for our brave boys !
