I read the news today oh boy! Page 729

After 15 minutes or so when the armed coppers turned out.

Time for 3 officers to be potentially crippled.

If one of the on scenes had a shooter might have been none

I hardly think one dog attack is a good enough argument for all police officers to carry guns at all times. No, what we need is to train an army of dogs to attack as many officers as possible, then no one will be able to block the move. This would also make the plot of a great movie which I have just started writing.

the American attitude to crime could be seen as a bit more conservative than the UK.

I doubt that many if any thought that.

I'd go back and re-read some of the intial comments. Hell, there's people on this forum that complained that an unarmed elderly Saudi Arabian was shot dead by the US military as he was peacefully going about his jihad in Pakistan.

Most of the people on this forum thought that Zimmerman went up to an innocent kid and shot him execution style without so much as a Howdy Do.

'Most'? Never one to exaggerate, RC-! :D

Terrorism, the Summer Riots and Russian gangsters shooting each other on the streets of London are pretty good arguments for tooling up the rozzers. Killing dogs would just be a bonus.

Looking forward to your movie - unfortunately The Dogs Of War has already been taken as a title. How Rise? Like Rise of the Planet of the Dogs?

Live in fear. The armed Dutch police shot 5 people dead last year.

Is there a reservoir in it at all...?

Only til I've got them in bed and then it's too late.

As long as it's just the police, the last thing I want is to live in a country that would allow you to walk around tooled up. All the rest of us, just not you.

Well, talking of silly, politically correct f**kers, Mr. K met a woman in our park today who was objecting to the planting of a monkeypuzzle tree because it would be dangerous to children.

Never said the police shouldn't be armed, now did I, smarty pants?

No need to, to reiterate.

Shooting one old bloke really wasn't worth it. If the cost was Pakistan stopping cooperating in the war on terror and hiding their atom bombs in milkfloats.

All the Dutch police are armed, but they stll manage to avoid going gun crazy.

Proof that judicial killings are more related to poverty, inequality, lack of civil rights and bad laws.

This from the man who judges glass houses, you practically founded the Reiteration Nation and placed it next to Quotesville, just out of Context.

I do it fun, surely you see that.

But of course.

Despite all the back of forths, I think this has been a really top notch discussion. It's always good to have your perceptions challenged and look at the issue from both sides.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to come up with headlines for my pro-gun, racially motivated child killing newsletter - Hmm, Zimmer Framed! Yeah, that'll work.
