There's proper porn on the internet if that's what you're after. And it's probably funnier.

But wait, she went to have sex and used second hand condoms! And they were hung up on a washing line to dry. NOW say she's not funny!
The Senate passed groundbreaking legislation Thursday that would make it a federal crime to assault an individual because of his or her sexual orientation or gender identity. The expanded hate crimes law now goes to President Obama's desk. President George W. Bush had threatened to veto a similar measure. The bill is named for Matthew Shepard, a gay Wyoming teen who died after being beaten in 1998.
Yet another useless law signed by yet another useless bunch of politicians. We already have laws against assault and murder, so why a new law? Political correctness just gives our elected officials and lawyers the opportunity to spin their wheels instead of addressing real problems.
Quote: Finck @ October 22 2009, 6:28 PM BSTFor a while I thought I was a bit French, because family tradition had it that my mum's maiden name derived from a French name and the family were Huguenots fleeing France.
But my mum recently bought a historical analysis of the name and it turned out it was bog-standard German.
I'm probably from over your way. We've tried to trace my mother's maiden name, but it always comes to a suspicious dead end around the 1870s, IIRC. I'll probably try to investigate myself at some point, but with no knowledge of German it could be a bit difficult.
Quote: Finck @ October 22 2009, 6:28 PM BSTAh well, now I'm English (not by the rules of Nazi-Nick, though).
Nor by mine!

You're not Royal, are you?

Well, there was a war in 1870/71. Also, during the founding of the German Empire in 1871 there might have been a bit of bureaucratic chaos. And shortly after the boom years that followed the formation of the state there was a massive crash during which people might have relocated and stuff.
If you ever need help translating something, just ask.

We've been experiencing that kind of tosh for at least 12 years now. So depressing.

I would say hate related violence is a real problem that demands specific attention in your country as well as mine.
My family is supposed to have originated here about a thousand years ago:

Oh right, yes. That could explain at least some of it. Well, maybe I'll get around to investigating it one day.

It seems to serve only to line the pockets of the lawyers and advisors who sit around for months on end drafting the bloody things.

The punishments have been in place for hundreds of years. But now the government seems intent on making some victims more important than others.

More that some people have been historically poorly served by the law.

Our law looks increasingly likely to specifically discriminate against white males within the near future. How's that for victim importance?
In the case of these crimes they do more than just bring injustice to victims but have the intention of instilling fear in the population of a specific minority. That in my opinion is worthy of a separate law.

Yea because it's the white male that is always getting the shaft
