Yes, so I believe. After researching my family tree I've discovered I am in fact a genetic mongrel. :)

For a while I thought I was a bit French, because family tradition had it that my mum's maiden name derived from a French name and the family were Huguenots fleeing France.

But my mum recently bought a historical analysis of the name and it turned out it was bog-standard German.

:(

Ah well, now I'm English (not by the rules of Nazi-Nick, though).

Awesome!

Good, isn't it? :)

You certainly have a very English sense of humour, dear. By which I mean you have a sense of humour. ;) Hug

You'll be glad to here that I come from Hanukkah people too, my mother's side of the family were immigrant Lithuanian Jews - possibly the most apathetic of all the Jews. (Family name Melz, which for some reason is mainly considered German-Jewish.) Wave

Bloody hell, everyone's at it! We're you not given the upbringing then?

Oh shit, my post count! What shall I do, what shall I doooo?!

My grandparents were living in Germany in the 1930s and fled to England, leaving a lot of the rest of their families either in Germany or back in Lithuania. For whatever reason, they felt it unwise to be open about being Jews when they arrived and changed their surname to an English one. They didn't really practice any religion anyway and my Mum and her siblings were basically brought up as good old C of E Christians. A couple of my cousins have "embraced" their religious ancestry, but not I.

Oh. Errr

Now she's just a massive tit.

They must've done that when I was briefly unconscious during my National Insurance Number interview (you're only properly here if you're able to claim benefits). I *did* feel a bit funny afterwards.

Oh, and Hug.

I do tend to shout "Jew hater!" at my foreskin every time I see it. Errr

My German ancestors did the same thing because of anti-german feelings I suppose.
