I read the news today oh boy! Page 359

Whoah! Are you trying to tell me Shanghai Noon never happened?

Retarded.

Bit serious this one........

These benefit cuts are really going to cause people great stress and even more hardship. The people on Incapacity Benefits- all of them- are to be re-assessed by the govt to see if they really are fit for work. Fine, in principle, but not when you find out that the assessments are to be carried out by a third-party contractor who will be paid £14,000 per person they find 'fit for work'. Would you feel confident of getting a fair hearing in court if you knew the jury were on a bribe to find you guilty regardless of what you tell them?

I see that the G20 fatality, Ian Tomlinson, is reported to have been "five times over the drink-drive limit." AFAIK, pedestrians are not subject to that limit, so using that measure to describe his state insinuates a crime on his part where none exists.

It is a smear campaign against him. 'Oh look, he was a drunkard so who cares if he is dead'.

Maybe, although I heard the same measurement used to describe the intoxication of a 14 year-old boy who was run down by a train. And he was too young to drive anyway!

So I think, in general, it's just a convenient way to (sensationally) describe how pissed someone is.

This sort of result has long been known about. Also, 'experts' assume wine that comes out of a red wine bottle is red, even when white wine has been put in it.
However, it's also been shown that people who believe their wine is more expensive, genuinely enjoy it more. So they do in a way, get what they pay for.

I prefer Vimto myself and I don't mind what year either.

:S Yes, and the 'shock reduction of benefit claimants' BBC news, why the shock?
They have assessed everyone 'fit for work', even the poor old geezer with terminal cancer!

Damn you, politicians......damn you to hell.

I seem to remember, many years ago on some programme like Tonight, that John Laurie couldn't tell a malt from a blend after about three drinks.

Oh, and this is quite good . .

And on the day that the details of Royal Wedding(mega yawn) are announced, we also get this little gem.

I think that the two events are connected.
