I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,974

99.9% of the population does not need to answer that question; it's just that the weird 1% think it's something else.
But, keep on sniping.

You seem to think that only transgender people support trans rights, which is inaccurate. At least 40-55% of the UK public support trans people's right to identify as a different gender than they were recorded as at birth. So you're not in as huge a majority as you think. https://yougov.co.uk/society/articles/43194-where-does-british-public-stand-transgender-rights-1

If you looked at those polls (which I doubt you'll bother to, tbf) you'd see that only 25-37% of people think they shouldn't be allowed to. A minority of the population. Just a really bloody loud one.

Yes territorial claims are made all the time and who land belongs to has always been in flux and is often disputed by neighbours. To simply say a country is wrong to invade and lay claim to another's territory is naive in the extreme, and yet this is what Ukraine's European allies are saying. Stopping them doing it by military force is the only way. It's why most nations have their own military as defence.

If your invader has a bigger and stronger military than you then you are usually in trouble however wrong you and others claim it to be. So it's ridiculously naive to say to big bad Russia 'stop being a bully and leave them alone', they need to be stopped. Unfortunately that would mean a war Europe can't win without USA's muscle and this USA govt. doesn't want to get involved.

Ukraine then needs to make a decision - concede some territory or carry on in brave defiance until most of your men are dead and lose ALL your land. Unfortunately that alliance pact they signed in the 90s has been proved to be worthless.

Would you have supported the Nazi invasion of Poland? Russia launched a brutal unprovoked invasion of a sovereign nation. Of course, we condemn it. If Trump wasn't in Putin's pocket, so would you.

Of course I condemn it like millions of others, but all these words aren't going to stop it. The reality is the alliance Ukraine thought they had, was never strong enough in reality, or their allies would have stopped Russia taking Crimea 11 years ago, never mind advancing into the mainland three years ago. And now Trump's back, you can forget trying to salvage what they've lost, it's gone, wrong and illegal or or not.

I don't deny transgender rights, that's not the issue.
But biology has a big say.

On the contrary, Ukraine has battled Russia to a near stalemate, inflicting devastating losses to the vaunted Russian military. They've done it all themselves, with the exception of Western arms and ammunition. That's all they ever ask for, and we dragged our feet the whole time because we feared Putin's meaningless red lines. The Ukrainians haven't knocked the Russians out, but they're wobbly on their feet, so if Europe were to get heavily involved the Russians would be in serious trouble.

Trump really could stop this war in 24 hours. But it would take the projection of strength and power - the only things Putin understands. Trump could declare a no-fly zone within x miles of the border and stop the shelling of Ukrainian cities. He could dispatch the 82nd Airborne Division to protect Ukrainian civilian areas and Putin wouldn't have the balls to take them on.

Instead, our moronic president has accused Ukraine of starting the war, called Zelenskyy a dictator, and kissed Putin's ass at every opportunity. He's squandered any leverage Ukraine might have had by ruling out NATO membership and offering up Ukrainian territory without their approval, and he's destroying old friendships and partnerships. The damage will be immeasurable, and if Putin is rewarded for murdering and plundering Ukraine, everyone in Europe will pay a heavy price when a resurgent, sanctions-free Russia decides to settle old scores with the Baltics, Poland, Finland, and Germany - for starters.

Trump has no grasp of history.
We in Europe have people alive who remember the last time a ruthless aggressor moved westward across our continent.
We also remember America was our friend then.
No-one is labouring under the illusion that the States are to be relied upon now.
And I believe only the most MAGA of his supporters are actually comfortable with that - that's if they even understand the implications of such a change in the World order.
Scary times - both sides of The Pond.

Rather than quaking in his boots, I bet Putin is pissing himself laughing at Trump's comments.

That's made my day! 😊
