Of course a lot of people aren't even aware that Biden has had a stutter all his adult life
For the young Joe Biden, few things were as daunting as speaking in front of his class.
A student at Catholic school, Biden struggled with a stutter -- a speech condition that, at the time, was often regarded as a sign of low intelligence.
The mockery was sometimes fierce, including from a nun who was his teacher.
The bullying Biden endured on account of his stuttering would prove to be formative.
Equally formative would be Biden's efforts to manage his stutter. Determined to overcome it, Biden took action in a way that would define his approach to life and politics: Just keep pushing. If you fail, try again. Work hard. Persevere.
"Biden would stand in front of his bedroom mirror holding a flashlight to his face and he would recite Yeats and Emerson," says John Hendrickson, a senior editor for The Atlantic who has profiled Biden and who stutters himself, describing a method Biden used to bring his stutter under control and gain confidence.
Biden's pushing would pay off. Eventually, the boy who had been bullied at school became president of his senior class.
"Many people would say Biden's stutter is among his most visible weaknesses, if not number one," Hendrickson says. "But it's also a source of his strength"
Best will in the world, none of that matters.
The Democrats need someone new, sharpish.
Too late
Far too late
Biden took a massive gamble and there is a pretty good chance its gonna backfire
if Trump wins he will 100% be on a revenge mission , he will have people concoct all sorts of made up shit and have Biden in courtrooms - courtrooms in Republican states with Trump appointed judges
Good luck with that Joe

You do dislike democracy. I don't !
I want Trump to lose democratically. Trump himself tried to overturn the last election.
You didn't want our election to happen because you don't like elections and don't want Labour to win.

Definitely not too late! He'll have to go. And soon.
Its too late for him to be 'pushed'
Never too late for him to voluntarily drop out
He won't do that, he's quite arrogant
He's already blaming the debate on a simple head cold
Trump will win and lots of people will be happy and lots not.
At least you'll know it's his policies and not backroom puppeteers running the show.

Speaking of which, this is so clever and SO funny............the best bit is at the end
It's a disaster for the Democrats, they didn't listen to the concerns that were there two years ago and put some contingency plan in place, and now their man's decline has accelerated alarmingly at just the wrong time, he's a walking vote loser and no new candidate choice will have the time to build up a support to match Trump's. The irony is I don't think many of either party's politicians are happy with the leader they've got, but that's democracy for you.

This is a real problem. It's not too late for Biden to pull out though.
He says he won't - or rather his wife does.
She's really enjoying being first lady and that old duffer is not going to stop her.
I think maybe their best option is to get a doctor in to say his overall health is not up to the rigours of campaigning and possibly 4 more years as Pres, and he needs to retire. That way there's some dignity left for him. But yes they have to bite the bullet and deselect him as they can't possibly win with him. An awful of of Americans don't want Trump in again so they still have a chance of stopping him, but they have to act fast with just 4 months to go.

Totally agree.
Blimey.
But you may not agree with this - not Kamala Harris. Her public rating is low, yes possibly due to misogyny in part, but I think choosing a younger fitter politically moderate male will avoid the culture war Trump will have with her as his rival. They should avoid wokeness because Trump is just waiting to tear it apart in his campaign.
